Generally you get what you pay for in this arena. Cheaper services for hosting may result in higher ongoing costs for upgrades, hosting that lacks features, or you may end up with dozens of different places to go to manage your website, costing you time and more in fees.

Domain Registration

A domain is the address of your website. For example, “Receptive.com.au” is my domain name. These are registered through a Registrar for a fixed time frame. Australian domains end in “.au” and can only be registered for 2 years, after which you will need to pay for the next two years.

.Com domains

We often recommend that clients register the “.com” of their name as well as the .com.au, if it is available. Com Domains can be registered for any time frame from 1 to 10 years.
